Hello there,
My name is Philip and I'm in Knoxville. I fell in love with Evos when I went to a rally in 1997 when I saw an Evo 4. In 03, as a college student I went to the dealership the second they got in the first wave of 8s. I couldn't afford one at the time but the second I saw it I knew it would be a car I would own and own forever.
I have a tarmac black IX SSL I bought in October 2008 in West Virginia. It was semi built when purchased and not built well. Had some issues so I had the motor rebuilt about 2 years ago. It has been through many changes and is currently undergoing major surgery. After 4 years of the stock turbo I have purchased all the necessary parts to hit my goals. Seeking 550whp on 93 and 650 on E85 with an ECU switch on Speed Density and a great tuner. Torque will be conservative due to the weaker Manley H-beam rods but it should be close to 500.
Another local X owner and myself are currently setting up a Knox Evo crew so if anyone is interested hit me up. There will be shirts, vinyls, 129 runs and meets ;D
On to the fun:
